A traditional Irish music seisiún is an informal gathering of friends and musicians, often in a public place (such as a bar, pub, restaurant or coffeehouse) who play tunes and sets of tunes on fiddle, flute, box, uilleann pipes, guitar, mandolin, banjo, etc. The music is mostly instrumental, but often someone would be invited to sing a song or share a joke or recitation. Kyle has been attending and hosting sessions in the San Francisco Bay Area for close to thirty years, playing guitar, fiddle, mandolin and banjo.
